Interaction Design

The Food for Thought Manifesto

Brief

The project aim was to create a design manifesto led by insights from an analysis of existing design manifestos using Research through Design approaches and methods.

My response was to communicate the value of maintaining cultural traditions and staying genuine to oneself through a prototype of a point-and-click game.

This interactive manifesto is also reflective of my design process.

Existing Manifestos

These images show an analysis followed by a response to Bre Pettis and Kio Stark’s ‘The Cult of Done Manifesto’ (2009). This manifesto inspired my approach to my work in that the end product doesn’t have to be perfect and it’s the effort and attempts you make that count.

Contextual Research

Researching the historical context of the Taiwanese night markets enabled me to understand the greater challenges that they face such as gentrification and lack cultural importance and continuity due to lockdown which I intend to raise awareness for.

User Journey Sketches

This is a short collection of the iterations of user journey storyboards which allowed for a better visualisation of each interaction. The most challenging aspect was connecting and refining the wording of my manifesto to the visual metaphors displayed.
